The stock market plays a pivotal role in the growth of the industry and commerce of the country that eventually affects the economy of the country to a great extent. The stock market is important from both the industry’s point of view as well as the investor’s point of view. However, within this macro trend, the share price of each company follows its own trend and it requires considerable acumen to understand these trends. MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME)’s Economic and Finance Club organized a Colloquium on "Investor Perception towards Stock Market Investment" on 23 March 2019. The colloquium was conducted by Shri. Suresh, Branch Head of Karvy Fintech.
In his own unique style, the facilitator highlighted various aspects related to Market Capitalization, Sensex 30, Nifty 50, BSE 30, Cost Accounting, Skills and abilities required for being a research analysist, portfolio manager and dealers. The speaker further emphasized on the aspects to be viewed in the balance sheet before investing in a company, effects of GDP on stock market, factors changing stock price, long and short term funds. The speaker further highlighted the mechanism of stock market and Demat Account necessary for on-line trading.
