Effective Management Education calls for learning from multiple channels. For enabling such a learning orientation, widening of one's horizon of thinking is important. Keeping this aspect of holistic student development in mind, MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) has been periodically organizing socially relevant activities that would facilitate the expansion of “Social Responsibility Index” of its students. This approach would enable the students not only to contribute to “Corporate Social Responsibility” during their careers but also to become responsible citizens of India.
As a part of CSR initiative, MIME students conducted a survey and identified a Non-governmental organization viz., "Sai Trust for Disabled, Bangalore" which has been working for the cause of education and self-reliance of differently abled people.
The students of CSR Club, under the able guidance of Ms. Anuradha Deepak, the PGDM Program Coordinator, had a few purposeful interactions with the authorities of the NGO. Students identified the urgent needs of the visually impaired students and visited the NGO on 25 March 2017.
They handed over the much-needed Laptop Bags, Brail Watch to support their study. In addition, cash amount was sponsored for two visually challenged students pursuing their higher studies.
