MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) PGDM students of both 2017-19 and 2018-20 batches synergized their efforts to organize the “Teachers’ Day” on 5 September 2018. The event served as a platform for both the teacher and the student to understand each other in order to enhance the relationship between the two which is vital for an effective teaching-learning process.
Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Director, MIME emphasized the importance of recognizing the limitation in the English language while employing the term “Teacher”. In fact, a Teacher in Indian tradition means “Guru” who leads a student from the path of darkness to the path of light. He further stressed upon the importance of mutual understanding for effective transfer of knowledge between the teachers and the students.
The event comprised of a diverse set of activities designed by the students to respectfully engage with the faculty members. The activities involved “Musical Chair Competition”, “Quiz”, “Ramp Walking by Highlighting Props” and “Sharing of Experiences by the Students”. These events enabled the teachers to understand the perspective of students and vice-versa.
