MIME is the first B-school of JGI Group, Bangalore and was established in the year 2001. For almost two decades, MIME has been ranked as one of the best B-schools in India. The first year of PGDM at MIME are dedicated to core management, and the areas covered are very broad. They are selected with the aim of introducing the students to the business space and establish a firm foundation in management. The second year of the course, are very specific to specialization subjects, which are dual specialization in nature. The students have an option to choose any two specializations: Finance & Marketing and Human Resource Management & Marketing. The students are also welcome to take up a super specialization course in International Business. A specialization in International Business prepares the student for the modern, globalized world in the business sphere; a guidance that is essential for a management professional today.
The topics, case studies, and the pedagogical methods selected for the course are all based on the learning outcome that is cited and elaborated in the session plan for each subject. The faculty also matches it up to the standards of the curriculum of one national and one international management institution.
The MIME PGDM course defines a complementary relationship between theory and practical study. Projects and assignments are assembled keeping in mind these two aspects. The industry exposure, which varies from course to course, includes industrial visits, four weeks of organizational study after the first semester, six to eight weeks of a summer internship project with an organization after the second semester. The students are also encouraged to take up live projects or field studies based on their course requirements and their interest. The students get opportunities to work on real projects for a range of small and large organizations.

Role-play sessions are regularly conducted for students based on topics of negotiation, cross-cultural communication etc. to make subjects of Communication, Human Resource & Organizational Behavior more relevant in their study. The institution also conducts regular research-based seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and quizzes. The active student forum of the MIME hosts the annual management fest – éclat, apart from publishing the MIME newsletter – Samvaad.
The MIME Career and Placement Center is known to be the best link between student and the business world. The placement process carries on throughout the two years till the end. The mock interviews and group discussions are essential parts of the placement process. Every student must undergo the training before qualifying for the placement process. At MIME, PGDM career statistics have rocketed to 93% as of June 2018. The highest cost-to-company (CTC) recorded is 6.57 lakhs, the lowest is 3.30 lakhs, and the average CTC recorded is 4.82 lakhs.
Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Consultancy – the key elements of the objectives of MIME, are in and through all that is offered to the students in these two years.
