5 September 2019.
For an effective teaching-learning process there should be a “two-way traffic” in terms of exchange of feelings and sentiments between the teacher and the taught. Celebration of Teachers’ Day every year provides one of such platform for recognizing and building this type of “two-way traffic”. It is an established practice in India that as per the wishes of our former president Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan his birthday which falls on 5th September is being celebrated every year as “Teachers’ Day”. This practice was started from the year 1962. Keeping this practice in mind, the PGDM students of MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) organized the Teachers’ Day – “ACHARYA VANDANA” on 5 September 2019. As a part of the celebrations, several intellectual activities were organized for the faculty and staff members of MIME. Recognizing the importance of the day, the students fondly remembered the contribution of “formal” teachers and “informal” teachers as mother, father and well-wishers in shaping their life. The highlight of this year/s function was the video presentation of experiences about each faculty and staff by their family members, former colleagues and friends.
