MATS Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (MIME), organized an intriguing Panel Discussion on February 6th,2021 to analyze the key insights of the recent budget through a multi-perspective approach.
Mr. Abhishek Singh, a Student of MIME and working as the Senior Analyst -Deloitte acted as moderator of the panel discussion and the panel consisted of Mr. Gokul Alex, Co-Founder, Gigamesh Garage Ventures, Mr. Gurunandan.M, Chief-Financial Office, Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd., Mr. Kamal Agarwal - Partner, SARC Associates Chartered Accountants, and Mr. Lakshmana B.R, Chief Financial Officer, Ceratizit Group.
With the presence of eminent panelists, the discussion covered key areas of this year’s budget such as the digital mode of presentation, the health, and wellbeing, physical and financial capital and infrastructure, inclusive development for aspirational India, reinvigorating human capital, innovation, and R&D and minimum government and maximum governance were immensely elaborated by the panel.
The panelist also critically analyzed the effectiveness of the budget in addressing economic, fiscal, and business issues such as the fiscal deficit, capital expenditure, economic growth, the levers of growth and the bottlenecks, and how the government has pitched the budgetary allocations.
Once the panelists had completed their views on the budget, it was followed by an interactive session, where each question from the student about the budget was answered insightfully by the panel. It was an enriching experience for the participants to learn about the various dimensions of the Budget 2021-22 as it is an important fiscal instrument through which the government communicates about its methods of managing various economic resources for the development of the country and the welfare of people.
