PGDMStudents Industrial Visit to Decathlon Sports (India) Limited 08 October 2015
In order to reinforce the understanding of concepts and expand the horizon of thinking, the first semester students of MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) visited “Decathlon Sports (India) Limited”, Bengaluru on 8h October, 2015. The excitement pertaining to learning found its way while going round the bays of the organization and discussing about the rationale of facilities, systems and processes laid over there. The Senior Manager (HR) Mr. Mohammed Khan as an effective facilitator, addressed the queries of students and satisfied their curiosity related to the locational aspects and operational challenges faced by the company on cost, quality and customer retention fronts. Students explored the range of products of Decathlon and discussed in detail the marketing strategy, competitors and distribution channels for the same. Mr. Khan found students highly inquisitive while the students were very happy with the learning at Decathlon and effective facilitation by Mr. Khan. The visit proved to be an effective platform of experiential learning to the students.
