In the contemporary era featuring economical ups and downs, it is difficult to ensure continuity in the flow of income. Therefore, it is important to have knowledge about the probable avenues to save the money. Keeping this aspect in mind, the “Economic and Finance Club of MIME” organized a talk on the theme “Wealth Management and Mutual Funds” on 17th September, 2016. Shri Sharath Gopinath, Managing Director, Productive Financial Services, Bengaluru, the speaker on the occasion highlighted salient and practical aspects of “Wealth Management” covering tax planning, long-term and short-term investments, and suggested to keep the investments simple. Elaborating from the basics, the speaker illustrated the various aspects of “Mutual Funds” viz., different categories, their relative merits, and role of regulating agencies such as SEBI and RBI in the operations of Mutual Funds. The talk was followed by an interactive and thought stimulating Question and Answer session.
Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Director – MIME in his address congratulated the faculty coordinator, student coordinators and the participants for their initiative. He emphasized that students should use the functional clubs as a platform to organize activities that complement classroom learning.
