Mats Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME), the Economic and Finance Club Organized a Workshop on Mutual Funds for the Beginners. Mutual Funds aim at providing a return which is above market average at a risk which is below the market average. Since money value keep on reducing with time, it is important for the management students to become acquainted with the fundamental concepts of Mutual Funds. Against this background, MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) organized Workshop on “Mutual Funds for the Beginners” session with Sri. Balaji G. K., Managing Director, Tradejini on 11 September, 2019.
Elaborating the concepts of mutual funds with the help of day-to-day examples, the facilitator highlighted the importance of understanding the time value of money and planning in advance for rainy days. Drawing from his experiences, the facilitator highlighted the importance of “patience” while dealing with Mutual Funds. Summing up, the facilitator vividly described the likely future scenarios and prescribed the steps to be taken to face them. The question and answer session that followed the presentation elicited insightful questions.
Sri. Ashok Kumar A, Founder Director of Cautilya Capital supported MIME in organizing the Workshop. Dr. S. Manikandan and Prof. B Ganesh coordinated the Workshop. The PGDM students, faculty and staff participated in the interaction.
