Newspapers are tool for educational and personal empowerment. Newspapers are the best sources for the information and evolution in every field. Students need to be able to anticipate trends to develop appropriate strategies for professional development, career selection, specific job opportunities, and financial planning and investment. Newspapers help students to develop vocabulary and access to verbatim transcripts. Newspapers provide application of the information reading, critical thinking, analytical skills, and synthesis skills needed for comprehension. Newspapers help college students to make connections among different fields, subjects, topics, issues, and events, and hence help them ask the right questions. Newspapers must enable students, statements, behaviors, and hands-on issues of candidates, and provide verbatim transcripts. It also enable to students for reading the texts of important speeches, press releases, statements, and reports so they can draw their own conclusions.

Newspaper analysis is a regular feature at MIME which offers an opportunity to the students to regularly read on current happing and keep themselves updated. In order to appreciate the students reading Newspapers regularly the second round of a quiz competition was organized on 17 October 2019.

10 teams comprising of five to six members participated in this event. The quiz witnessed six rounds of Pen and Paper Round, You or Me, Think before you pass, Tell Me who, Game Theory and Final Call with tough questions which tested the intellect and the presence of mind of the students. The audiences were also given a chance to participate in the news quiz analysis.

The winners of the 2nd Round News quiz competition are from Section-A, Mr, Boddeti Venu Gopal, Mr. Jayanth G H, Ms. Payal Bhavsar, Ms. Ramandeep Kaur Sachdeva, Mr. Shrenik Patwa V and Mr. Siddhant Singh and runners are Mr. Arunbalabharathy S P S, Mr. B. Rohan, Mr. Bandi Ashok Sanath, Ms. Chakkala Kuppalapalli Naveena, Ms. Chitra Dey, and Mr. Mohhammed Ashique H S. The following students qualified for the final round of New Quiz Competition.
