MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) and School of Commerce and Management Studies, Jain University jointly organized Panel Discussion on “
Unfolding the Underlying Message of Union Budget 2015-16” on March 23, 2015. Mr. Krishnaswami, practicing Chartered Accountant and awardee of “Vidya Ratan Award”, former member of Advisory Committee on Taxation, Government of India, former member of Advisory Committee on Excise and Customs Duty, Government of India, and former member of Committee for Standardization appointed by RBI, Government of India; Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Director MIME, and Prof. Balaji Rao were the panelists.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Jitendra Kumar Mishra, who welcomed the guests and audience and set the tone for the discussion. The discussion was thereafter taken forward by the panel members.
The discussion concluded that the Budget 2015-16 was different in emphasizing / addressing some of the critical issues such as social security for all, economic empowerment to all, development of infrastructure by simplifying the foreign investment laws, and promoting the slogan of “Make in India” by making it easy to do business in India.
The discussion resolved that the budget convey the message that Government is poised to accelerate the economic growth in long term by simplifying the norms of doing business, developing infrastructure, and focusing on manufacturing sector. It intends to earn by facilitating businesses to grow and use it to invest in the social sector.
