MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME)'s HR Club organized "Abhivyakti 2 - Take a Stand" a debate competition on 12 November 2019. The topic of the debate was "Is Artificial Intelligence threat to Human Resource".

The primary objective of this activity was to stimulate insightful thinking among the students and also to get a feel of the emerging changes in the corporate world. Considering rapid advancements in technology and consequent changes in the competitive scenario, a set of related questions that always linger in the minds of the budding and practicing managers are Whether employees actually constitute the most important asset of an organization? To what extent do we agree with this statement? Can employees be replaced by machines? Does artificial intelligence prevail over human intelligence? When questions like these arise in the mind, the mind starts thinking and these resultant thought processes facilitate in broadening the horizons of one's thinking.

Twelve students from PGDM 2019-21 batches participated in the competition. Each participant was provided with a total of 5 minutes that included the time for question and answers also. The participant was permitted either to support or oppose the theme. They were judged by a panel of judges based on the parameters of subject content, body language, time management, stage presence, effectiveness of the delivery and the ability to handle questions. After an intense debate, Ms. Siddhant Singh was declared the winner and Lavanya K. Vishnu R. as the runner-up.
