On the occasion of the 9th International Yoga Day, MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (MIME) organised an event on 21st June to promote the significance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being. The event was attended by students, faculty and staff members.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and the students, followed by a warm welcome note delivered by Dr A Sakthivel, Associate Professor at MIME. Dr Jitendra Kumar Mishra, Director of MIME took the stage next and shared his insights on the profound impact of yoga on overall well-being. He stressed on the need for mindfulness and self-care in today’s world and encouraged the audience to incorporate yoga practices into their daily lives.
Dr BK Arun, Professor and Yoga practitioner of MIME, conducted a yoga session where he guided the participants through various yoga postures and breathing exercises. He explained the significance of each posture and how they contribute to physical strength, flexibility, and mental well-being. Next, Dr Suman Pathak guided the participants through various meditation techniques and explained the significance of Heartfulness in nurturing a sense of well-being, compassion, and self-awareness. The participants immersed themselves into both the sessions equally and enjoyed the different approaches.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anuradha, Programme Coordinator of MIME who expressed gratitude to the Director, Professors, staff members, students and all the participants for making the International Yoga Day celebration a grand success. The 9th International Yoga Day celebration at MIME turned out to be a great success with participants learning to integrate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
